Dr. Douglas Orr, D.C., M.S. – Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Orr has always had an interest in science and the health care profession, and that is why he choose to pursue biology as his course of study after graduating from high school.  Dr. Orr completed his undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at Youngstown State University.  After graduation, he decided he wanted to continue his education and decided to pursue a Master’s degree in biology at Youngstown State University. Dr. Orr then worked at a research facility, studying toxicology; however, this is where he began to develop chronic low back pain.  Dr. Orr finally decided to go to a chiropractor to get this problem figured out.  After one treatment his back pain instantly went away, and after a few treatments he was back to better health. Dr. Orr was amazed at how effective the treatments were!  The chiropractor was friendly and seemed to really enjoy his profession. Dr. Orr decided to spend some time in the chiropractor’s office observing the doctor treat his patients.  All of the doctor’s patients seemed pleased with his treatments, and many of them stated how much the chiropractor had helped them.  After some deep thought Dr. Orr decided that this is what he wanted to do with his life, and he applied to chiropractic school. Dr. Orr first worked as an associate for another practice and then decided he wanted to strike out on his own. Since that time Dr. Orr has had the opportunity to help many people, which is what motivates him every day.  He has seen many people come into the office with low back pain, headaches, numbness in the hands, and many other conditions that were greatly helped. “I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity to work in a profession that helps people naturally to get well.  Every day presents a new challenge to learn and grow, as well as, an opportunity to help many people.”
